![]() I shared this VW Gol number 92 in the race with Henrique Kavilhuka. Saturday practise was very wet.
On Sunday it was bright and sunny for the race. And very hot and dusty!
![]() The charge into the first corner was exciting. I made up a couple of places and tucked in behind our team-mates Eduardo Kavilhuka and 'Bigode', in car 90.
![]() Through the very fast right hand sweep after the first corner. Eduardo heads Paulo dal Negro, then me and the rest.
![]() I spent quite a lot of time battling with the 171 car, Oscar Montesinos driving.
![]() Trying to pass Paulo dal Negros, I outbraked myself and skidded sideways through the first corner, but was able to regain control, just about stay on the track and stay ahead of Montesinos, but in the downhill sweeper that followed, I had to throw my car into a sideways slide in front of him to block him off. Not very sporting, but there we go...
![]() I caught up with Eduardo and we ran in a Kavilhuka racing formation until the first pit-stops for the driver changes.
![]() Accidents and incidents continued...
![]() I started the race, Henrique took over, I drove again, then Henrique, he is driving here running to the finish. We started 12th and came home in third place after a long tough race.
![]() Christiano Bornemann and Felipe Schultz were the happy winners, here on their lap of honour.
![]() I had to leave before the official presentations, which were some time later, but here's Henrique collecting the trophies for third place (in yellow/black on the left).
