Karting

In 2007, in celebration of 20 consecutive years' active racing competition, I returned to my starting point, which was karting, and raced the Matcham's Open Championship. This time round, I was teamed up with Brad Philpot, who came oh-so-close to winning the Matcham's Open Championship title in 2006. Initial practise of just 25 laps at Matcham's in the Formula TKM, Venom kart and I was back on the pace and enjoying the return. With racing speeds reaching 90mph, it was an exciting year in this highly competitive form of racing!

May 13th - JAMES BAGS A WIN!!!!!!
In the third event of his comeback, James Auld managed to win a race! But this was not without controversy as a collision between James and his team-mate Brad Philpot when battling over the lead sent Philpot into a spin while James raced on to victory! Says James, "Brad passed me for the lead, and I tried to get him straight back at the next corner, but ended up running into the back of him and firing him into a spin... It was an accident, its racing!" Auld had to fight all the way to the flag against the others though and crossed the finish line with two other drivers side by side right on his tail.
- Ooops, sorry Brad!
